Notes from June 20

Also, here are the notes I had from tonight. Alot of it is repetitive.

Possible KP's:

  • Convince those who fear that they can overcome it by faith (in general).
  • Here's the story (Dianne)
    Man and woman in love
One day they are chatting about life and hope and fear
They start to talk about their fears
The guy won't fess up to any…but his primary fear is losing her (this may have been driven by a childhood fear)
She's kidnapped and he's knocked out
He wakes up and he's in the dark; "if you prove yourself worthy, you can get her back; but you can't turn on a light."
He has to overcome an old fear (the dark), to overcome his primary fear (losing her)
If you can leave the house w/o turning back, you can have her back
He hears commotion and a gunshot - he walks out and light floods the area
He turns around and she's holding the gun (maybe she had to overcome her own fears)

    Another (Orlando)
Bully or person who has a high level of respect
    They go into training
    Who?
Those who are driven by their fear of failure

    That?
Fear can only be conquered by facing it

    Because?
engaging the process is the reward
The reward is found in engaging the process
The activity of confrontation is the true reward
    Starting the process
    Moving through the process

    KP:
It is the process of engaging one's fear that is the true reward.

What will you get by overcoming:
    Completion
    Fulfillment
    Happiness
    Self respect
    Accomplishment
    The elixir
    You reach your potential
    You know what COULD be
    What is possible
    You experience release
    Freedom
Facing your fear is the first step to real growth
overcoming fear is the key to unlocking true potential
Roger's Question: Why are you here?
    Why do you face fear?
    Hope of reward
    Stronger and smarter
    Erases the question
    You will always ask why
    Fears piss me off
    There's a rush; a good feeling
    Learning new things is exciting
Until you face it, you will always wonder
    There's a thrill in risk
    More opportunities
    It feels wrong
The process of learning is the reward itself
    The process is the reward
Human insights for those who fear failure:
What they have now is better than nothing
They may have moved forward ahead, but have shrunk back
    They are probably comfortable
They may have very poor/slim support systems
    The mindset :
They see overcoming as a barrier, not an opportunity
Even though desirable, its just not worth the effort
How do you get them over the barrier? You give them a REALLY good "because"/"reason"
They know they have a poor support system
They have to have the "aha" moment that drives them forward
    Low self worth
These are some of the barriers you are going to have to overcome in people. In designing your story, you have to move people emotionally to get them to accomplish the "what".

    completion
    Fulfillment
    Happiness
    Fulfill your nature
Shows you the possibilities you actually have
The only thing to fear is fear itself
You are always going to be a loser if you let fear win out
